Armstrongs Attends Thuli Madonsela Gala Dinner

A dinner hosted by the Law Society of Botswana last Friday with guest speaker Thuli Madonsela, the Public Protector of South Africa.

Thuli Madosela gave a thought provoking speech on the pillars of a strong democracy highlighting the distinct roles of the legislature, judiciary and executive. She reminded us to unite as one and use our resources jointly for the greater good in order to achieve our national and international goals.

During Q&A session, Thuli Madonsela was asked what her most difficult task has been as the Public Protector. She surprised all of us by saying that it is those cases that are not in the public domain that challenged her. She made an example of a former soldier who has lost his house as a result of late payments by the government and she had to find a way to correct the wrong that had been committed against him.

Thuli Madonsela was presented with a gift and declared an honorary member of the Law Society of Botswana.
